Construction Insurance Claims
-
Extensive experience preparing and processing SDI claims across major carriers and brokers, from in-layer and captive claim management through policy limit claims. We also provide end to end support for the entire claim life cycle, including pre-loss claim readiness training, proof of loss preparation and review, delay analysis for indirect and supplemental costs, and litigation or subrogation testimony.
-
Claim documentation, preparation, packaging, and review for owners, general contractors, and insurance carriers, including forensic delay and soft cost analysis.
-
Preparation, coordination, and review of repair estimates, coverage issues, and authorization to proceed for first party rectification claims, with a focus on timely authorization and efficient claim recovery.
-
Valuation of damage and repair or replacement costs associated with design deficiencies, material defects, improper workmanship, and maintenance issues.
-
Scheduling, monitoring, project controls, cost to complete analysis, and REA preparation or review for performance surety claims.
-
Cost valuation and dispute resolution support for owners, contractors, and insurers involving third party property damage, physical loss, and completed operations claims covered under consolidated wrap policies.
Forensic Analysis & Project Controls
-
Forensic schedule analysis consistent with AACE International Recommended Practice No. 29R-03, provided independently or in support of indirect, supplemental, delayed completion coverage, and soft cost claim analysis.
-
Analysis of baseline schedules and monthly progress updates against the DCMA 14-Point Assessment and additional schedule health criteria, with executive reporting on integrity, chokepoints, and probable completion.
-
Detailed review of payment requisitions and change orders to identify duplicate or unsupported costs, excess markups, overhead and indirects, material overages, and other costs that may not be allowable or reimbursable under the contract.
Disputes & Risk Advisory
-
While we do not advocate for litigating claims, it is sometimes an eventuality of the claims process. If claims progress into formal dispute, C3 stands behind its work, providing expert witness testimony regarding forensic delay analysis, construction costs, and standard of care.
-
Enterprise and project level risk management support, mitigation strategy, budget and schedule oversight, and project monitoring.
Built on 30+ Years in Construction
Before Christopher Epps began advising clients on construction claims, he spent years managing the projects where those claims originate.
That experience brings a practical perspective to every assignment. C3 understands how projects are planned and executed, how cost and schedule decisions are made in the field, and how delays, defects, losses, and disputes can develop as the work progresses.
Combined with decades of claims consulting experience, that foundation allows the team to look beyond the documentation and understand the construction realities behind it. Clients receive analysis informed by both technical rigor and practical judgment, with a clear focus on identifying the issues that matter and moving the claim toward an efficient, well supported resolution.
When an assignment requires further scrutiny, the work is built to withstand it. From initial analysis through dispute resolution, litigation support, and expert testimony, the team stands behind its findings.
